Galit Basok
Co-Founder and Head of Pedagogy at Pele
Galit Basok is Co-Founder and Head of Pedagogy at Pele, where she leads the design of the reading practice, the practice protocols, and the assessment approach. She holds an M.S. in Reading from Adelphi University.
For more than 25 years her work has focused on helping children with dyslexia and reading difficulties move from effortful reading to fluent, confident reading. In 1997 she founded the Koren Center in Israel, where she developed and refined a structured reading-intervention method, including Echo Reading, through many thousands of hours of guided practice with students. Pele grew out of that work, with the aim of making structured, specialist-led practice available at home.
Galit co-founded Pele with Keren Barkat. She writes and reviews these guides for parents.
